Wishes
To view the earth
and all its parts,
God's masterpiece
of awesome art.
See flowers and
mountains and appreciate
The wonders of Nature,
both small and great.
My wish, though,
now, is to stay the clock,
Borrow some moments
for taking stock-
To pause and spend
some time to think
And from the fount
of knowledge drink.
My wish is to use
my remaining days
With time well spent
in productive ways.
I shall feel success
if my life can be
Engaged in improving
society.

If I Could Have Three Wishes.
But before I let
the stopper slip, I would hold it firmly in my grip,
Squeezing oh so
tightly with both hands.
Just to keep him
there imprisoned, should my wishes be decisions
Later needing certain
countermands.
To have prestige
among the masses with the wealth of an Onassis
Would be to some
the greatest cup of joy.
But to raise oneself
upon a pedestal standing like a god celestial
Wouldn’t suit this
good old Aussie boy.
’Cause I’m happy
with my lot, I’ve worked hard for what I’ve got,
To ask for more
would only be a waste,
And it wouldn’t
help the needy if one was found to be so greedy
Seeking personal
gain in lustful haste.
Before setting free
this little goblin, I would ascertain the problem
Of the hungry, the
crippled and infirmed
And with all my
thoughts determined I’d be positively destined
They become my beneficiaries
confirmed.
I would wish for
long days sunny, with no need for gold or money
Seeking happiness
the whole world round.
Like the miraculous
loaves and fishes I’d make sure that all my wishes
Put starvation far
beyond the outer bounds.
There’d be no sickness
any more, no need for gluttony and war,
There’d be no crime
or desecration.
I’d make Heaven
here on Earth for all to share it’s worth
In spite of colour,
creed or inclination.
If I should be in
such a strong position to order such a requisition
My hands around
the bottle’s neck would clamp
Till in scripted
words unfailing, I could then commence unveiling
My three wishes
to a Genie in a lamp.
Cups Of Kindness
More journeys to
travel
As the future lays
ahead
I wish you all happiness
On each path you
tread
For we all have reasons
When a new year
starts
Giving hands of
kindness
In sharing of ones
hearts
When ringing out
of old
Singing "Auld Lang
Syne
I'll be hoping love
to all
The now and future
time
As new year ticks
over
In the celebration
cheers
Sip the cups of
kindness
Throughout future
years
If I Could Have Three Wishes....
Happiness is hard
to define,
Each keeps our own
kind on the shelf,
So I'll leave that
one for you to decide,
And gather it up
for yourself.
Instead I'll wish
for peace of mind,
Freedom from fear
of all kind,
Knowing that we
can have God in our lives,
If only we make
up our mind!
And yes, I wish a
degree of success,
But not the kind
that brings stress,
No, just enough
wealth to live comfortably,
With a little to
spare ... not excess.
And so, as we start
the year two thousand one,
What I wish for
us all is the same,
Good
Health, Peace
of Mind, A Comfortable
life,
(And for poets ......
that all know your name! ) J
Jesus said, "I have
all power,
Go now and teach
all men.
Tell them of their
evilness
In committing heinous
sins.
But if they'll turn,
obey My word
My blood will surely
cleanse."
His blood was shed
for all mankind,
"For whosoever will
may come."
He offers them true
salvation,
When they obey and
never roam.
He'll take them,
when they die
To an eternal, heav’nly
home.
So, do I want three
wishes?
I would wish for
only one.
That ev'ry one would
heed the call
Of God's immortal,
holy son.
Give their souls
to Him this day----
In all, God's will
be done.
Three Wishes...
He never leaves
anything to fate
His has time for
his son
and makes time for
me
He truly loves his family
With work worn hands
and a weary body
He still has time
for
even a few hobbies
I just don't know
how he manages
to to all that he
does
but if I had 3 wishes,
they would be his
with all my love
To Annie
My
Three Wishes
The joy you add is unsurpassed
It’s the kind that will forever last
For having you, I’m truly blessed
God granted my dreams, He gave me the best
Now hitting the lottery, would sure make us
rich
But we don’t need that much to fill that niche
So I’ll keep my SECOND
WISH quite vague,
FINANCIAL SECURITY,
day-to-day
Now these wishes are for a good life it’s true
But this life just wouldn’t be the same without
you
For you have a way to make life worth livin’
Each day with you, is a gift I’ve been givin’
That’s why for my THIRD
WISH it has to be
For your HEALTH
to be good, and problem free
For fun and financial security, it’s true,
Just wouldn’t be good for me, without you.
I Love You
Three Wishes
Health is the most
important
With Anna I must
agree
So I'd wish disease
to wane away
For everyone . .
. as well as me
Then the second would
be a bonus
Expendable . . .
as they say
I would use with
some frivolity
Before the end takes
them away
I'd wish for a really
nice motor home
With an endless
supply of gas
I'd pack my skivvies
in it
And find the open
road at last
I would tour this
awesome country
From the mountain
to the shore
God's creation in
all it's glory
And His creatures
I would explore
The third I would
put in a bottle
And safely store
it away
Just like my mother
would tell me
To save for a rainy
day
If I Had Three Wishes
Next wish would be
for a little money
Cause life has been
hard since the wreck honey
Just a little to
get us by
And maybe a car
that won't die.
Third wish would
be for my dear mother dying of cancer
To bring her a real
doctor, one with some sort of answer
Three little wishes
that don't amount to much
Just wishes to make
life easier and such.
Dream Wishes
Now I’m a “senior”
on the go,
My health problems
are a care,
But thanks to my
H.M.O.
I can go most any
where.
Happiness I have
beyond my dreams,
A mate so loving
and true.
I’m quite
content with life it seems,
So I wish the same
for you!
My three wishes have
been willed,
I owe it to the
Creator,
The wishes were
prayers fulfilled,
Some early on, some
later.
Wished Upon Three Stars
Wishing on number
two
Sparkled to my eyes
Was share love in
heart
To never hear goodbyes
Wishing on the last
star
As a third star
shone
Give hope
and clarity
Good health to everyone
Strength be given
to all
As kind seeds planted
My wishes are willed
Hope they are granted
Wishes three
were granted me
But wanting more
I asked for four
Because I asked
then there were two
"I'll not be granting
more for you!"
I wish that I had
not said that
"Now one more wish
is where you're at!"
How quickly wishes
go you see.
I now have one
But once had three.
"Be careful now of
what you say.
Save the last for
a rainy day."
But I have learned
from all my strife
that hard work is
what you need in life.
You can wish three
times to help you through
But it's not what
you wish
It's what you do.
This is my final
wish my friend
I'll wish for you
so this will end
I wish you love,
good health and cheer
And God's good grace
throughout the year.
I started to polish
it
And whoosh! to my
surprise,
The genie of the
lamp appeared
Right before my
eyes.
"I am your humble
servant"
He said, as he bowed
to me,
"As the keeper of
the lamp,
I grant you wishes
three."
"I'd like a fabulous
mansion,
And champagne on
tap" I said,
"Oh! and Tom Jones
to sing to me
As he carries me
off to bed."
He disappeared in
a puff of smoke,
And where he was
before
Stood a butler 'neath
a chandelier,
On an endless marble
floor.
He plied me with
the best champagne,
Till I could drink
no more;
Then I heard Tom
singing "Sex Bomb, Sex Bomb"
As he approached
my door.
When I heard the
doorbell ring
I could feel the
beating of my heart,
The bell rang louder
and louder and louder,
Then I woke up with
a start!
My alarm clock was
ringing
As I lay there,
in my bed,
And when I reached
for Tom
I found my husband
there instead!
I'm happy with my
'home sweet home,'
That mansion was
too grand for me.
The champagne gave
me hiccups,
I much prefer my
cup of tea.
I am married to a
Welshman,
He's not Tom,but
he'll do,
So maybe, on reflection,
My wishes have come
true!
The Gift
I'd wish for warm
understanding
knowing turbulent
seas may flair.
I'd wish for God
at the helm
to guide with His
patient care.
Then, I'd take my
given wishes
held out, inside
my palm
and blow them to
you, like kisses
on the breath of
a lover's psalm.
One Wish Wasted
We hadn’t had much
fun, just sittin’ fishin’ in the sun,
When Jack me mate
said ‘we’re out of grog’.
It took us less
than half a second, to get our minds to reckon
We’d have to row
to shore, a tardy slog.
After reeling in
our lines, I found a jug attached to mine,
Whilst my cobber
only had a wormless hook.
We both were well
past caring, but we couldn’t help but staring
At the only catch
we'd made and could not cook.
I gave the jug a
little rub and then so help me Bob
A little spook appeared
before us in a cloud.
‘Holy flamin’ smokes’
came from both us fishin’ blokes
‘We’ll have three
wishes now if we’re allowed’.
But this genie was
a young ’un, and he quickly started tonguein’
That as yet he couldn’t
grant us three.
He said with one
he’d do his best, if we’d forego the rest
An’ I thought with
one good wish I’d have a spree.
But me mate always
remisful, inadvertently was over wistful
When he said ‘I
wish this lake was full of beer’.
In a flash, to our
surprise, the lake turned amber ’fore our eyes,
And the apprentice
genie quickly disappeared.
I was cranky with
old Jack; I wished the Genie would come back
As my mate, now
in his element did gloat.
One problem now
befaced me, old Jack had now disgraced me,
For now we’d have
to pee within the boat.

The Winter Wish
O pity 'twas to see
so bold
A winter's wish
stuck in the cold,
Its ball of gentle,
dim-lit blue,
A shadow of its
former hue.
Still as the night,
on high it gazed
To heaven's fields
where once it grazed
On infant's dreams
and lullabies,
While gleaming through
new mothers' eyes.
Perhaps, I thought,
one of my girls,
At night's first
star, beneath her curls,
Had sent this wish
upon its way,
As night's chill
darkness seized the day.
A ladder from the
shed I took
And tucking it within
the crook
Of two great branches,
made my way
To where the tender
wish now lay.
On tip-toe then I
gently moved
Each limb until
my efforts proved
To work - ah, what
sweet joy to see
The wish to open
air set free!
I watched it rise
into the dark,
Upon the heaven's
breadth a spark
Of beauty streaking
like a star -
It vanished then,
for it was far
Away. Later, I went
to bed,
And as I kissed
my daughter's head,
She woke and whispered,
"Dad, it's true;
I made a wish that
I'd see you
Tonight when I was
fast asleep!"
Then off to welcome
dreamland deep
She went. I paused,
then kissed again
The wish that charmed
her sleeping brain.
if i could have three wishes
Stars are meant to
be wished upon,
and I thank my lucky
one each night.
For giving me the
wish I wished for,
the wish that makes
heaven so bright.
Dreams are meant
to be remembered,
and every night
to be dreamt so true.
That is why I cherish
my dreams,
because each night
I dream of you.
Promises are meant
to be kept,
and never ever to
be broken.
All the promises
I have ever made,
have been revealed
each time we have spoken.
Love is meant to
be felt,
from the heart so
deep and true.
That is exactly
how I feel,
each time we say
"I love you."
My stars granted
me the wish,
of the dreams each
night of you.
All of the promises
I have ever made,
we're always to
love you.
