New Uniforms!

New Look!

Hi! I'm the new webmaster, Pat O'Neill, and I'll be slowly revising the website over the next few weeks and months. It'll take a while to get to everything, so some pages may still have the old layout for some time to come.

Big News: This site will be moving in the next two weeks.

Due to changes in the 50megs.com system, the Ramp/Ridley Raider Band website will be moving to:

RAMP Estore

September Meeting:
Wednesday, September 12, 7:00 PM
Location to be announced

This is an informational site for RAMP - The Ridley Association of Music Parents. RAMP is pleased to present information useful to Band Parents and students of Ridley High School in support of the Band and it's activities.

We will attempt to provide all the information on the Band's activities that is required to make this a smooth running operation. It already is. RAMP has been supporting the Ridley Raider Band for years and through its efforts has been instrumental (pardon the pun) in providing the operating platform on which the students can grow and mature as talented individuals.

If you are a band parent, please bookmark this page and remember to check it often for changes in the practice schedule, basic information required of the students, and, of course, fundraising activities.

It is hoped this site will help overcome the tendancy of students not to tell their parents what it is they are expected to do, when, where or how.

Dear Band Parents:

As we embark on another band season I am writing to solicit your help and cooperation with all R.A.M.P. functions.

Many new parents ask why we have to do fundraising. R.A.M.P. is the means by which we raise the money necessary to provide the field and sideline equipment for the competition showsl These funds also purchase the various outfits worn by the guard and the flags they use. In addition to these items, in the past years R.A.M.P. has completely replaced the entire Drum Line; basses, snares, quads, and cases. This cost of replacing these items can well exceed $10,000 - $15,000. The school district does not subsidize in any way the field equipment or outfits in our competition shows.

The year the Band Director and his staff have composed a show that they hope will produce a top 10 finish in the USSBA circuit. In order to get to that position it will take a lot of time, effort and a certain monetary cost. R.A.M.P. needs your help and ideas to come up with the funds required to produce a top ranked field show. If we do not come up with fund raising support the only other alternative is to charge the band members to cover these costs.

This year we are requesting that parents choose one fund raiser; either student or R.A.M.P., to help run under the direction of the Ways and Means Committee Chairpersons. Please help support R.A.M.P., so R.A.M.P. can support your child. Thank you.
